Burt Yarkin is a Managing Director of The McLean Group’s San Francisco, CA office. Mr. Yarkin leads The McLean Group’s Franchise and Consumer, Specialty Retail & Restaurant practices, advising global companies, franchisors and large multi-unit franchisees on mergers & acquisitions and capital formation. The Franchise practice group is one of the most active investment banking groups nationally. Mr. Yarkin works closely and maintains strong ties with entrepreneurs, franchisors and key institutional investors operating within the Franchise and Consumer, Specialty Retail & Restaurant industries. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Yarkin worked in franchising for more than 25 years. Mr. Yarkin has held senior management positions with such well-known international brands as Cartridge World, Gymboree and 1-800-Flowers and spearheaded efforts to grow those brands globally. As past CEO of Cartridge World, Mr. Yarkin oversaw the rapid growth of the brand and he was instrumental in completing a large private equity transaction for a sale of the company. A popular speaker at franchise, private equity and other business conferences, Mr. Yarkin also has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, The New York Times and Entrepreneur Magazine, as well as other newspapers, magazines and news programs.
