Steve Murphy has been with Winmark Corporation, parent company of internationally-recognized brands Plato’s Closet®, Once Upon A Child®, Play It Again Sports®, Style Encore®, and Music Go Round®, for over 17 years. He has served as President of Franchising since 2006, helping to grow publicly traded Winmark to over 850 franchisees and 1,225 locations and over $1 Billion in retail sales. Winmark’s brands stand alone as market leaders in the retail resale industry, outpacing their competition in both average unit volume and total units, driven primarily by the quality of their franchise partners. Murphy has been involved in every aspect of a franchises life cycle during his time at Winmark, from fixing brands to growing them, and managing start-up concepts to mature brands. He also leads the company’s newest division, Winmark Franchise Partners™, which focuses on helping new and emerging franchisors achieve their growth plans by providing consultative and advisory services, resources and capital.
