Dozens of International Franchises Exhibiting
at 20th Annual IFE

International Franchise Expo Sees Increase of
Overseas Businesses Growing in U.S.

Paramus, NJ – (March 21, 2011) – With a record turnout expected at the 2011 IFE show on April 1-3 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., many of the world’s top international franchise concepts will be on-hand showing off their business models to prospective U.S. entrepreneurs.

International chocolatiers Kim’s Chocolates out of Belgium, Cacao Sampaka from Spain and Showcolate based in Brazil will be showcasing their delectable franchise concepts at the show. Fine chocolate stores are some of the fastest growing franchise concepts in the U.S. as American consumers have developed a taste for exquisite, exotic chocolate delicacies. Mexico’s red hot fast-casual restaurant concept Chilorio’s and India-based Trade Xpert, which manages financial portfolios, will also be exhibiting.

In addition, several Canadian and Korean-based franchises will be at the IFE with hopes of growing in the U.S. They include for Canada: SportBall, A Buyer’s Choice, Nutri-Lawn, Sarku Japan, Mad Science, Team Makers, YogenFruz and Pure Health Bars & Lounges. Exciting Korean restaurant concepts showing include: Kraze Burger, Han Grill, KKONGDON and Juk Story.

With a recent study by consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers projecting the number of new franchise units industry wide to increase 2.5 percent in 2011, many international concepts are seeking to gain a foothold in an American market ripe for expansion.

“There are no signs of franchising slowing down either in the U.S. or internationally, which is why there are such vast opportunities for investors interested in international concepts,” said Tom Portesy, President of MFV Expositions, producers of the show. “This event offers many unique, international concepts the chance to show off their wide range of opportunities at nearly every investment level.”

The IFE is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and promoted worldwide as part of their International Buyers Program. More than 150 U.S. Embassies through their Foreign Commercial Service Offices actively promote the IFE within their regions and bring official escorted delegations from all around the world to the Nation’s capital.

Tens of thousands of prospective investors from across the country and overseas have attended the show over the past 20 years of the IFE’s existence.
