Miriam Brewer, CFE Senior Director, Education and Diversity - IFA Educational Foundation

Miriam L. Brewer, CFE is the Senior Director of Education and Diversity for the International Franchise Association. In this role, she leads IFA’s efforts to increase the diversity in franchising as a part of new/emerging market and works in the area of NextGen/Students in Franchising. Brewer works hand-in-hand with members of Congress, Mayors and other stakeholders by coordinating and delivering educational programs and cultivating relationships in major cities across the U.S. She staffs the IFA Diversity Institute Board. A seasoned speaker, Miriam has presented at over 300 conferences and is frequently interviewed by print and broadcast journalists. Miriam has 25+ years of experience in association/non-profit management. Prior to joining IFA in December 2006, Brewer served as the Associate Director, Diversity and Inclusion with the national office of the Alzheimer’s Association. During her decade plus tenure with the Association, she worked on both the national and local levels. Brewer previously worked for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Washington Chapter in a number of roles from Multicultural Outreach Coordinator to Executive Director, managing three offices. Active in the community, she is member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and an elected officer in her local chapter. Brewer is also a staunch supporter of Howard University where she raises funds for scholarships and other programs. Miriam is a graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, possesses a Certificate in Diversity Management/Training from Montgomery College and now holds the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation.
