Grant Springer Army Veteran and Edgewater, MD Franchisee - Dream Vacations

Grant and Nadja Springer are the owners of a Dream Vacations travel franchise. Grant and Nadja leveraged the numerous entrepreneur programs offered to service members before and during transition. Utilizing resources and information provided in the SBA-Boots to Business program, Grant applied for and was awarded his Dream Vacations franchise in 2013 when he won the company’s annual “Operation Vetrepreneur” contest, which awards five free franchises to military veterans each year. While Grant continued to serve, Nadja, as a military spouse, began full-time work on building the franchise as a home-based business. The Franchise has grown exponentially in the past three years; growing new and repeat customer base daily (including arranging travel for some corporations). Grant and Nadja were awarded “Franchisee of the Year” by IFA in September 2015 and is a top-producing military veteran franchise owner. Grant retired from active duty Army in June 2015 after 26 years of service.

Grant is a native of Independence, Missouri, and entered the United States Army on November 17th, 1988. Veterans have a proven track record of success in franchising. Franchises run on systems and offer training and support, just like the military. In franchising, you’re in business “for” yourself, but not “by” yourself. That’s why there are over 70,000 veteran-owned franchise establishments in the United States. Learn from veterans and business leaders in franchising how to get started in this exciting industry.
