Atul Gupta Long Island Multi-Unit Franchisee - Checkers

Atul Gupta was born and raised in Chandigarh, INDIA. While there Atul graduated from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation Atul began working on a Dam project in India for a Canadian Based Company. After just 6 months Atul quickly realized he was more interested in controlling his own destiny and decided to take over a small, struggling manufacturing company where he spent the next 6 years reviving the company which he eventually sold for a profit. Looking for his next venture Atul decided to migrate to the US in 2001. While here he immediately began working with his brother-in-law in his fast food restaurant as a cashier and order taker and eventually learned all aspects of the business. This time proved invaluable as he was able to take his learnings and launch his first Deli in Manhattan in 2002. Shortly thereafter in 2003 he became a Taco Bell Franchise where he enjoyed much success. Five years later Atul added two Ranch-1 Franchisees to his portfolio and he was off and running.

Over the years the cost of doing business continued to rise in Mid-Town Manhattan so Atul began looking for another opportunity to compliment his portfolio. With the consult of his Partners he turned to Checkers and decided to buy 3 stores on Long Island, NY. These restaurants had been open and operating successfully for 15 years and yet through Atul's guidance he has been able to increase top line sales which has led to a higher ROI.

On February 24th 2017 Atul built his first new Checkers Restaurant in East Meadow, NY. Looking forward Atul and his partners have plans to keep growing with Checkers whether it be through acquisition or existing store consumption. Atul's tireless work ethic and thirst for knowledge is the reason he has achieved such a high level of success in all aspects of his life.
